Georgia Clay Council

Georgia Clay Council Mission:

“The purpose of the Georgia Clay council shall be dedicated to meeting the needs of clay artists and potters of Georgia by providing the opportunities and environment for cultural and educational growth, and for the promotion of clay work in Georgia.”

In February, 2003 a small group of clay artists, assembled by Noel Gilliam and Billie Mitchell, met at the Cherokee County Art Center in Canton, Georgia to discuss forming a guild to serve the clay community of North Metro Atlanta. On this evening, the group of artists made a commitment to the cause, a mission statement was written and a Board of Directors was elected. The group has thrived since that time and membership is open to anyone interested in promoting the clay arts. For more information on membership, click the link at the right.
